Designed and stitched by Fort Lonesome founder, Kathie Sever, as part of a very special upcoming project, the Casa Grande panel renders the desert in filtered technicolor of the morning light.
From Kathie Sever:
This piece was a sketch, initially, for a much larger project- one still in the process of germination.
Inspired by a poster for Big Bend National Park and my many visits to this enigmatic and difficult to describe region, I wanted to explore the interplay between the dramatic geology and the fortitude of the flora- the floratitude? found within the parks boundaries.
About the artwork:
24" x 27", signed, 1/1, chainstitch embroidery on silk wool, and finished with a sleeve for hanging on a dowel rod.
